The Department of Sociology started in the year 2016. This Department is offering 3 years UG regular program in Sociology. Department of Sociology focuses on the social development of students because sociology is the scientific study of how we live together and how our lives are functioned by social institutions. It prepares an individual for social life by values, morals, and manners. It gives knowledge about communities in which he interacts like rural and Urban communities.

The faculties of the Department are continuously in touch with the students. They solve students’ queries with friendly discussion. They are also engaged in the preparation of questions for class tests and internal assessment tests as part of the continuous evaluation process. The Department conducts fieldwork to provide sufficient exposure to students about social phenomena.

The students are hardworking and sincere which is reflected in the success rate. The success of the students has been reasonably good since the establishment of the Department. The students of the Department have qualified in many state and national-level competitive examinations. They are working in prestigious fields like Defence, Banking, NGO, Social work, etc.
