The Sanskrit verse “Vidya Dadati Vinayam” inscribed in the middle of the emblem of the college is the motto of Model Degree College, Boudh. It means that learning ... makes people humble. The place of Budha in it signifies what the term literally means: enlightened one, a knower. The college as it stands today strives to live up to these spirits.

Established in 2016 by the state government to meet educational aspirations of the underprivileged, it has come long way within its short span of life offering today three-year UG programmes in seventeen subjects across humanities, science and commerce. Beginning earlier in a makeshift campus in Women’s Higher secondary School, Boudh, it has now its own campus in a total of 10 acres land with a built up area exceeding….It has an excellent performance record in teaching-learning process emerging as one of the leading government colleges in Western Odisha.

The college is situated in about 220 km away from the state capital, Bhubaneswar and is 6km away from the district headquarter of Boudh alongside NH-57. The existence of two Hostels for boys and girls provide unique opportunity to far away student to study in an academic atmosphere dominated by a group of highly educated and trained faculties.
